While many publishers are overseas at the London Book Fair, Scribe Publications’ Fiction Acquisitions Editor, Aviva Tuffield, has been acquiring closer to home. ‘Scribe Publications is delighted to announce that we’ve bought actor Katie Wall’s debut novel, I Say Tomato.’
Katie Wall is currently appearing in Underbelly 2, as Matt Newton’s girlfriend, Karen Soich, and is also starring in the new ABC drama, Dirt Game.
I Say Tomato is a quirky, witty romantic comedy about an Australian actress trying to make it in the US film industry. Wall admits that it draws on her own experiences.
Tuffield says: ‘What impressed me most about the novel was the striking narrative voice. Unsurprisingly, Katie has a real ear for dialogue, and has created a wonderfully engaging protagonist.’
